Clara Barton, as you probably know, was the American nurse who founded the American Red Cross in 1881 and was its president until 1904. She was a remarkable woman. And she made it her personal rule never to hold resentment against anyone.
Once a friend of hers reminded her of a cruel thing that had been done to Barton some years previously, but Clara seemed not to remember the incident.
“Don’t you remember the wrong that was done to you?” the friend asked forcefully.
“No,” Clara answered calmly.
“I distinctly remember forgetting that, “ she smiled.
Those are the words and sentiments of a Blazed Soul A person who encounters challenges, loves vigorously and who loves to forget ugliness and remember the beauty inside us all.
